V: Bentornati a LUP “Let Us Play”. Questo mese sono in compagnia di un piccolo talento del sud italia! Stefano Zullino aka Refresh(Italy).
Ciao Stefano grazie mille per aver accettato il mio invito, è sempre un piacere fare quattro chiacchiere con un amico.
S: Salve a tutti e grazie a te Vincenzo piacere mio.
V: Caro Stefano, come di consueto, ti farò alcune domande per conoscere un pò la tua storia. Iniziamo subito.
Chi è Refresh? Come è nato il tuo amore per la musica?
S: La strada verso la musica ha avuto tanti step. Tutto nasce gia all’ età di 10 anni dove comunque ho iniziato a capire subito che nella musica c’era qualcosa mi prendeva. Giocavo sempre con lo stereo che avevo in casa, poi ho iniziato subito a focalizzarmi sulla ritmica dei brani che passavano in radio. Ed è stato li che ho realizzato che avrei voluto una batteria, e per natale lo ricevuta. Col passare del tempo ho iniziato a frequentare una scuola di batteria, poi comunque mi son distaccato da questo ambito perchè poi ho iniziato a scoprire i vari programmi per la produzione e li mi son sentito completo e mi è servito il percorso che ho fatto, nel 2008 ho iniziato a produrre i primi brani, nel 2011 ho fatto la mia prima release e ho continuato per questa strada.
V: Hai lavorato per ottime label come Plastic City, Recycle Records, Abstract Theory per non parlare delle tante collaborazioni con tanti artisti tra i quali Francesco Bonora.
S: La collaborazione con Francesco Bonora nasce sul web, ho stampato una delle mie prime release sulla sua seconda label “Music Things” poi successivamente su Abstract Theory che è un’ etichetta molto quotata con artisti fantastici. Dopo la mia prima release su Abstract abbiam deciso di fare un’ EP insieme su Plastic City.
V: Bhè sono soddisfazioni!!!!Parlaci un pò del tuo stile.
Sei molto eclettico nei tuoi dischi. Cosa ti piace proporre nelle tue performance e sopratutto cosa ti piace produrre.
S: Nei set mi piace proporre vari generi come la Techno, Deep House, elettronica, chill-out..nella produzione è diverso ho trovato il mio genere e riesco ad esprimermi come voglio cercando ovviamente di crescere e sperimentare, sempre alla ricerca dell’ atmosfera e del sound giusto. Ed è una gioia immensa quando la tua musica viene apprezzata davvero.
V: Come ti capisco 😀
Dimmi un pò cos’hai in mente per il prossimo anno? Progetti in cantiere?
S: Adesso per me è un periodo movimentato perchè ci siamo dedicati io e il mio socio Davide Ricci specializzato nel campo della sintesi sonora modulare, nel nuovo progetto “Constructive Cycle” la nostra etichetta discografica, dove stiamo lavorando già tre mesi con ottimi risultati, abbiamo deciso di puntare molto su questo progetto perchè è uno dei nostri primi obiettivi da sempre quello di proporre la nostra musica senza seguire degli standard. E’ un’ etichetta che abbraccia molti generi musicali, con delle grafiche molto particolari ideate su misura. E’ un’ esperimento per noi, il tutto ormai sta prendendo forma, siamo pronti a uscire allo scoperto molto presto. Ho fatto un brano insieme a Francesco Bonora che fa parte del suo prossimo EP con due remix di Franco Cinelli e Wince Watston sarà realizzato in vinile su Abstract Theory in uscita molto presto, abbiamo ricevuto ottimi feedback.
V: WOWÉ!!Bhè sarà un anno duro ma sicuramente pieno di soddisfazioni.

V: Welcome back to LUP “Let Us Play”. This month we are in the company of a little flair of southern Italy! Stefano Zullino aka Refresh (Italy).
Hello Stefano thank you for accepting my invitation, it is always a pleasure to speak with a friend.
S: Hello everyone and thanks to you my pleasure Vincenzo.
V: Dear Stefano, as usual, I’ll make you some questions to know a little about your history. We begin immediately.
Who is Refresh? How did your love for music
S: The road to the music has had many steps. Everything starts already at ‘age of 10 years where, however I started to realize immediately that there was something in the music took me. I always played with the stereo in my house, then I immediately started to focus on rhythm tracks that passed in radio. And it was there that I realized that I wanted a battery, and it received for Christmas. Over time I started attending a school of battery, then still I am aloof from this area because then I began to discover the various programs to produce them and I felt complete and has served me the way that I did, in 2008 I started producing the first songs, in 2011 I made my first release and I continued down this road.
V: Have you worked for great labels such as Plastic City, Recycle Records, Abstract Theory and many collaborations with many artists like Francesco Bonora
S: The collaboration with Francesco Bonora born on the web, I printed one of my first release on his second label “Music Things” then later on Abstract Theory which is a ‘very label listed with fantastic artists. After my first release on Abstract we have decided to do a ‘EP together on Plastic City.
V: Well these are satisfactions !!!! Tell us a little bit of your style.
You are very eclectic in your records. What do you like to propose in your performance, and especially what you like to produce.
S: In the sets I like to propose various genres such as Techno, Deep House, electronic, chill-out..nella production is different I found my thing and I can express myself as I obviously trying to grow and experiment, always in search of the ‘atmosphere and the right sound. And it is a great joy when your music is really appreciated.
V: I understand you: D
Tell me something, do you have in mind for next year? Your future Projects?
S: Now for me it is a busy period because we are dedicated me is my partner David Ricci specializes in the field of modular sound synthesis, in the new project “Constructive Cycle” our record label, where we are working already three months with excellent results, we decided to focus a lot on this project because it is one of our first goals always been to offer our music without following standards. It ‘a’ label that embraces many musical genres, with some very graphic details designed to measure. It ‘s an experiment for us, everything now is taking shape, we are ready to come out very soon. I did a song with Francesco Bonora which is part of his upcoming EP with two remixes of Franco Cinelli and Wince Watston will be made of vinyl on Abstract Theory traffic flowing very soon, we received excellent feedback.
V: WOW !! … Well it will be a tough year but definitely full of satisfaction.
