Bestival 2015’s ‘Summer of Love’ theme was easy to embrace for Kate Simko, as she showcased a special cover of A Guy Called Gerald’s seminal hit ‘Voodoo Ray’ with her acclaimed London Electronic Orchestra project.
The acid-house soaked track was arranged especially for Bestival by Simko as part of a live performance with the LEO, a collaboration that has lorded other major UK festival dates such as Latitude, HEART and LEAF, plus more intimate venues including Boiler Room and the exclusive Shoreditch House.
Kate founded her project with London Electronic Orchestra as a culmination of two years studying Music for Film at London’s prestigious Royal College of London, and a perfect coupling of extensive classical training with an unbridled passion for electronic music. After featuring on Kate’s recent collaboration with Hot Creations frontman Jamie Jones and with their debut EP is due for release, the future is certainly bright for Kate & her Electronic Orchestra.
